In 1992, Wayne Hinson founded Hinson Clutch Components. A general contractor by trade, Wayne had an extreme passion for motorsports, and spent most of his adult life pursuing that passion in the form of drag racing, powerboating, and of course, off-road motorcycling and ATVing. After a hiatus from his initial love affair with motorsports in the early 70s, Wayne reacquainted himself with motorcycles in the early 80s. By that time, he had two young sons who shared the same passion, so they spent a great deal of time as a family riding their motorcycles and ATCs. As the years went by and three-wheeled ATCs transformed into Quads, the Hinson family’s involvement with the sport grew; from simple day trips, to weekend trips, to eventually racing Quads by the late 80s.
Owner, Jamie Ellis, grew up racing motocross events across southern Louisiana and Texas. It was at an early age that Jamie grew a passion for racing and development. Post high school he chose to study and get a technical degree in aviation. After completion of college, Jamie took a job with Maestro Suzuki as mechanic for Jeff Dement. During the 2005 supercross and motocross race season it was clear to Jamie that performance and development was what he wanted to pursue as a career path. After the 2005 race series Jamie goes on to work for some of the top race teams in supercross/motocross such as Yamaha of Troy, Factory Red Bull KTM, Canidae Kawasaki, Rockstar Energy Suzuki-KTM.
It all started in 2009 as a college project for Chadd and Cameron Cole and after several months of, design, testing and product development input from Eddie Cole, some of the top riders and mechanics in the world of off-road motorcycle world, including MX legend Bob Hannah; the line was defined. In 2010 Eddie Cole who was the founder and President of Answer Products, Protaper, Manitou, SIXSIXONE, Tag metals, Sunline and Filtron lead the matrix team of Chadd Cole, Cameron Cole, Brady Sheren, Arnold Taylor and Brad Mclean and introduced and launched the MATRIX CONCEPTS line in the spring of 2010. The company had instant success with over 20 professional and amateur teams using and endorsing the line.
